Within the CAI golfing society the District Society "Lorimer" Captains are widely recognised as men of unique personal charisma and leadership and so, on the occasion of the 50th / Golden Jubilee renewal of the Lorimer Shield, CAI Golf blog has asked each to provide us with a little insight into their characters so that we can appreciate the real people behind these legendary golfers.First up - the defending 'Lorimer' Captain Bill Miscampbell, winner of more "majors" at Rosses Point than anyone else

| The first year I played at Rosses Ulster won but they forgot to present the Lorimer - until I reminded them. I earned an immediate reputation and was duly elected Ulster Captain for my trouble. Winning Captains Day at Royal Portrush on the day the 2 new holes were opened | ||||

Favourite memory / recollection / anecdote from Rosses | In my first year I turned up late when I was paired with Cecil Donovan (past president), Oliver O'Brien and Hugh O'Hare. I was terrified but they made me feel very welcome - the true spirit of Rosses Point. | |
